After 22 years as a Graphic Designer at WBNS-10TV in Columbus, I retired on disability due to Polycystic Kidney Disease in October of 2015. I had reached End Stage Renal Disease and trained for a Home Hemodialysis regime along with my wife who assumed the role of being my caregiver. Came close a couple of times to having a Living Donor provide me with the gift of life, but for different reasons the possibility of a transplant fell apart at the last minute. Was on a waiting list at the Ohio State University Comprehensive Transplant Center for two and one-half years when I got 'the call' in mid-January 2018 saying there was a match for me. I feel blessed to have this second chance. I am hoping to meet my donor's family one day hoping to thank them for their unselfish act of love.
